About NPR Pretest

Before the actual presentation of the National Population Register form, the government decided to run a play on some people. About 30 lakh people attended this pretest held in September 2019. This test was run on a test basis only to ensure the accuracy of the form. The following additional parameters are to be filled in the pretest form –

• Last place of residence
• Aadhaar Number
• Voter ID Card Number
• Mobile phone number
• Driving license number.

Documents Required For NPR 2020

The National Population Register of India is a practice that will be held in India in the coming year. The exercise however will not be conducted in the state of Assam running the National Citizenship Register exercise. Information on the name, address and all other details will be sought in the NPR form mentioned above, but it is said that you will not have to submit any supporting documents while filling the application form for NPR. Although the Aadhaar number can be asked, the citizen filling the form will not be asked for any other documents.

A normal resident will be defined as a person who has lived in an area for the last 6 months or more or who wishes to reside in that area for the next 6 months. In addition, no bio-metrics will be collected during NPR, although it can be sourced from UIDAI as and when required.
